Sister Patricia Bussman

March 30, 1933 - September 10, 2018

On the morning of September 10, 2018 the God whom Sister Patricia Bussman (Sister Mary Annunciata) saw as gracious and loving welcomed her into eternal life. She was 85 and had been a professed Sister of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary for 64 years.

Sister Patricia was an educator to both students and other educators. She started her teaching with a brief 3 years in elementary education at St. Mary (Los Angeles), Ramona Convent Junior School (Alhambra)and Saint Mark (Venice). Then for the next 30 years or so she was in secondary education as teacher, Dean of Girls or principal at Saint Andrew (Pasadena), Ramona Convent Secondary School (Alhambra) and Holy Names High School (Oakland).   For 10 years Sister Patricia served as Secondary School Supervisor for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles supporting schools, administrators and faculties throughout the Archdiocese. She finished her active ministry at Damien High School in La Verne teaching math to high school boys.

Sister Patricia was a proud native San Franciscan, going to Saint Monica Elementary School and Presentation High School. She is remembered for her refinement in her person, her enjoyment of a good glass of wine, her love of reading and her gentle laugh.

She was predeceased by her father Joseph, mother Anna-Marie and sister, Joan Mazely. She is survived by her niece, Stephanie Mazely and other relatives. She is remembered by her beloved Sisters and Associates of the Holy Names and by former students and colleagues.

The Mass of Resurrection for Sister Patricia was held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Holy Spirit Chapel, 65 W. Rincon Avenue, Campbell, CA 95008.
